My Story

I've always been a writer, since the day I began to scribble words on construction paper as a toddler. Since then, my passion for the written word has taken me into several writing and English arenas, including journalism, creative writing, literary editing, proposal writing, graduate-level academic content, and teaching.

Writing, to me, has always been more than just a tool of communication (although, of course, it is that). Writing has also been a way to see the world, to take life in hand and make sense of the meaning that is often hidden in the folds of our experience. In this sense, writing has been like an extra pair of eyes throughout my life, enabling me to perceive and understand things on a deeper level.

In 2025, I earned a Master of Arts in English from Liberty University, where I also taught as an English instructor for both online and residential college students. I also have a B.S. in Writing with minors in English, journalism, and creative writing.

I've had varied experiences with both writing and editing. I've published work in several literary journals, such as Ekstasis, Unbroken, Amethyst Review, and elsewhere, and have presented both creative and academic work at different conferences. Additionally, I have also served as an editor for the literary magazine LAMP, managed my own weekly column at the Liberty Champion during my time as Editor-In-Chief, and I currently review novel/novella, poetry chapbooks/collections, and homily manuscripts for Solum Literary Press.

I've always believed that writing equates to perspective, and my work often blends this intentional seeing with creativity and the fine details of the writing craft. This stance has largely guided my approach to writing and editing, and I hope this belief continues to hone not only my writing/editing future, but my life as well.
